Publication Ethics
The American Journal of Advanced Technology and Engineering Solutions is dedicated to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. We are committed to fostering a transparent, fair, and credible research environment by ensuring that all submitted manuscripts adhere to international ethical guidelines.
Our ethical policies align with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring that all authors, reviewers, and editors comply with principles of honesty, integrity, and transparency throughout the publication process.
1. Ethical Guidelines for Authors
Authors submitting to our journal must adhere to the following ethical standards:
✅ Honest Reporting
- Authors must ensure that data, results, and conclusions presented in their manuscript are accurate, truthful, and free from manipulation.
- Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is strictly prohibited.
- Any errors discovered after publication should be reported to the editorial office for possible correction or retraction.
✅ Originality & Plagiarism
- Manuscripts must be entirely original and not contain any plagiarized content.
- Authors must appropriately cite all sources, including prior research, datasets, and third-party materials.
- The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions. A similarity index above 15% may lead to rejection.
- Self-plagiarism (reusing one's own previously published work without proper citation) is also prohibited.
✅ Authorship Integrity
- All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research and manuscript preparation.
- Guest authorship, ghostwriting, or honorary authorship is strictly prohibited.
- Any changes in authorship (addition or removal) must be approved by all co-authors and explained to the editor.
✅ Transparency & Conflict of Interest Disclosure
- Authors must fully disclose any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that could bias their research.
- Any funding sources, sponsorships, or potential conflicts of interest must be declared in the manuscript.
- If a conflict of interest is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue a correction or retract the article.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Our peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining research integrity. They must adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:
- Confidentiality – Reviewers must not share, discuss, or disclose the content of manuscripts they review.
- Impartiality – Reviews must be objective, constructive, and free from bias based on personal, institutional, or financial influences.
- No Conflicts of Interest – Reviewers must decline to review if they have any conflicts of interest with the authors or research institutions.
- Constructive Feedback – Reviews should help authors improve their work without personal criticism.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
The editorial team follows strict ethical guidelines to ensure fair and unbiased publication decisions. Editors are responsible for:
- Ensuring manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, or institutional affiliation.
- Preventing manipulation, coercion, or undue influence in the peer review and decision-making process.
- Handling ethical concerns, complaints, or disputes in line with COPE guidelines.
- Taking necessary actions (such as retraction or correction) if misconduct or ethical violations are identified post-publication.
4. Research Misconduct and Corrections
Our journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously. If fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, authorship disputes, or data manipulation are discovered:
- The article may be retracted with a formal statement of misconduct.
- Authors may be blacklisted from submitting future manuscripts.
- Institutions or funding bodies may be notified of the misconduct.
If honest errors (such as miscalculations or misinterpretations) are found post-publication, authors may request a correction notice instead of a retraction.
5. Compliance with COPE and International Standards
The American Journal of Advanced Technology and Engineering Solutions follows ethical guidelines established by:
- Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) – Ethical standards for academic publishing.
- ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) – Authorship and manuscript preparation guidelines.
- DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) Principles – Ensuring transparency in open-access publishing.
All authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with these international best practices to maintain research integrity and academic excellence.
By adhering to these ethical policies, we ensure that the American Journal of Advanced Technology and Engineering Solutions remains a trusted platform for scholarly contributions that advance technology and engineering solutions globally.
